Summary
1. Cree has introducted a light module product using their "True White" technology that will make it easiere for light fixture manufacturers to design with LED's in a number of light fixture applications.

2. With Light Fair coming up expect to see other LED product introductions with availability this summer as LED manufacturers try to capitalize on this event.

Analysis
1. Lighting fixture manufacturers have had difficulty working with discrete LED lamps to design LED light fixtures.  LED's being solid state devices are different than existing bulb based technologies and in general the lighting industry has not been quick to learn out to deal with semiconductors, thermal issue, drive electronics, and  secondary optics required to shape the LED light beam.

2. The development of light engines/light modules by the LED manufacturers will make it easier for lighting fixtures firm to design using LEDs, and will accelerate the potential adoption of LED light fixtures in the market.

3. Firms such as Bridgeluxe, Philips Lumileds, and Ledengin have all introduced similar products that simplify LED fixture design.  I anticipate that over time more of the LED manufacturers will also be introducing these LED light module/light engines.
